hIOmon Software and Services

How to Activate a hIOmon Subscription

All of the hIOmon WIOP, WIOPF, and REST API software packages are offered as a service upon a 30-day subscription-fee usage basis.

A temporary licensing period is established when the purchased WIOP (or WIOPF or REST API) software is installed.  This period is seven (7) days in length; it begins upon the date that the hIOmon software is installed, which must be within a month of purchase.  The associated expiration date is the day following the last day of the temporary licensing period.  The hIOmon software will no longer be operable when the expiration date is reached.

The proper "hIOmon Activation Key" must be obtained from hyperI/O LLC and activated during this temporary licensing period (i.e., before the temporary expiration date is reached) in order to enable the full time period purchased by the subscription fee.

When activated, the hIOmon Activation Key will remove the temporary licensing period and advance the expiration date in accordance with the actual hIOmon software installation date and the time period purchased by the subscription fee (e.g., 30 days from the date when the hIOmon software was installed).

Activating a hIOmon Subscription

To activate the hIOmon subscription, first simply click on the "Activate" button at the bottom of the hIOmon Disk I/O Ranger Display "Settings" display window.  The "Settings" display will then be updated to show an "Activate" button alongside an "Enter Activation Information:" input text box.  See the screenshot below for an illustration:

Enter the e-mail address (of the customer registered at the hIOmon web site who purchased the hIOmon software license) and the Order ID number associated with this license into the input text box, then click on the Activate button (located to the right of the input text box).  Be sure to use the "|" delimiter to separate the Order ID number from the e-mail address.

NOTE: To activate a hIOmon REST API software license, check the "REST API" checkbox to the right of the Activate button before clicking the button.  The entered Activation Information will be applied to the hIOmon WIOP (or WIOPF) software if this checkbox is not checked.

The "REST API" checkbox is shown when the hIOmon Disk I/O Ranger Display is connected to the hIOmon REST API web service   Also note that the hIOmon REST API can be used to activate a hIOmon WIOP (or WIOPF) subscription.

Upon successful activation of the Activation Key, a message will be shown at the bottom of the "Settings" display window as illustrated by the screenshot below:

NOTE that the entered e-mail address and Order ID number are transmitted via the Internet to the hIOmon web site, which then returns the proper "hIOmon Activation Key" value.  The hIOmon Disk I/O Ranger Display then uses this hIOmon Activation Key to activate the hIOmon software subscription.  The temporary licensing period for the associated installed WIOP, WIOPF, or hIOmon REST API software will be removed when activating the software subscription.

Click on the "About" button at the bottom of the "Settings" display window to confirm the new expiration date.  For the hIOmon REST API, issue an HTTP Get request directed to the hIOmon REST API resource to obtain the new expiration date.

Also note that the computer system does not need to be restarted in order to activate the hIOmon subscription.

Subscription extensions are also available for purchase.
